Credit Services

Before selling something, make sure your customer has the capacity to pay.

Just as you don’t go into business to give things away, you shouldn’t sell your valuable products or services to someone who can’t afford to pay. If that sounds obvious, it is surprising the number of businesses who do exactly that!

Credit Risk Management

Credit risk management is a vital tool used to protect the financial health of your business.

Our credit risk management service is proactive and designed to grow your company’s sales while increasing the accountability for cash flow and profitability. In other words, we work to balance our client’s goal to increase sales with the capability to collect money.

Our credit risk management services are supported by the extensive information we hold, it is continually updated on our exclusive online database. In addition to offering comprehensive and sound information on your debtors, assisting you with setting appropriate commercial credit limits, we provide advice in the following specialised areas:

  • Pre and post insolvency advice
  • Specialist debtor investigations
  • Auditing current credit management procedures and manuals
  • Preparing new credit management procedures and manuals
  • Training in credit management procedures

Information and Reports

NCI provides a variety of business reports ranging from basic credit checks to comprehensive investigation reports.

Credit checks can be undertaken on companies and individuals, while larger reports also include trade supplier information, an overview of a company’s operations and financial information where available.

We have extensive access to a number of information databases to assist us in compiling information on Australian and international businesses.

Registration on the Personal Property Securities Register (PPSR) will ensure your security interests enjoy their maximum effectiveness. Our PPSR registration portal combined with our credit management services, ensures the best protection available. You can apply for, review and manage your registrations through NCINet.

If you do not need a credit limit for each of your PPSR registrations, you can apply to monitor those debtors. Our monitoring alerts you to sudden changes in your debtor’s ability to pay you, enabling you where necessary, to put a hold on further deliveries and act quickly to enforce your security interests over existing outstanding debt.

Our credit risk management allows you to relax in confidence for the following reasons:

  1. Deal with the right entity

Most debtors ledgers have an identity error rate of around 10%. Dealing with the correct legal entity ensures you have a legal contract to pursue and that you will rank for a dividend in the event of insolvency. We can review your ledger so that you always know who you are dealing with.

  2. Timely advice on changes

We can provide you with early warning signs on your debtors. You will be alerted to changes or adverse events on your debtors as soon as we are aware of the information. Wouldn’t it be valuable to know if there was a change in your debtors’ credit profile or if they have overdue debts elsewhere?

  3. Appropriate credit limits

If you already have credit limits for your customers, on what basis are these limits set and how often are they reviewed? Our experienced analysts draw on an extensive range of information and will provide you with thorough advice on your credit limits.

  4. Customer profiles

Our reports are not “off the shelf” information, instead we offer personalised, current and informative investigation reports. Our clients are also advised of adverse information for 12 months after the report has been written.

  5. Technical advice

We can provide you with advice on issues such as effective retention of title, personal guarantees and terms of sale. We can even audit your credit management procedures manual or provide relevant training and consultation.
